IBS Therapies
Structural Balancing

At the Calgary Centre for Irritable Bowel Syndrome we offer a comprehensive approach with proven therapies that address the cause of the digestive issues. This approach to IBS includes a treatment plan that addresses all levels of health in order to achieve total physiological healing.

Structural balancing is addressed through Visceral Manipulation therapy.

Visceral Manipulation

  • Releases adhesions and allow better movement and function of the digestive tract
  • Adhesions are caused by:
    • Infections
    • Direct Trauma
    • Surgery
    • Repetitious movement
    • Diet
    • Environmental toxins
    • Emotional Stress

Visceral Manipulation is a manual therapy consisting of gentle, specifically placed manual forces that encourage normal mobility, tone and inherent tissue motion of the viscera, their connective tissue and other areas of the body where physiologic motion has been impaired. For an organ to be healthy and have optimal function there needs to be motion.   READ MORE
